The World As It Is Now.A Poem by 1Disawsum
What happened to the world we all knew?
Where did the serenity go away to? Instead, we have robbery, shootings, violence. What happened to the pictures on the page? Where did the colours in the world disappear to? Instead, we can only see black and white. What happened to the joy, the will to live in this world? Where is the love and compassion for everything now? Instead, we have grey sky, moody days. What happened to the world we all knew and trusted? Where did the secrecy, the vows to keep others safe go to? Instead, we all know the feeling of betrayal, hatred. What happened to the beautiful landscape, the green grass? Where had the respect of nature disappeared to? Instead, we have pollution and littering, the extinction of native species. What happened to the respect of elders? Where did all the love and carefulness with gestures go to? Now we have children who back chat, people who abuse their elders. What happened to the respect of everyone else surrounding you? Where was the pride of being yourself disappear to? Instead, we have the ominous bullying and abuse, the verbal insults. What happened to the freedom of being able to be yourself without being judged? Why did they all disappear, out of sight, out of mind? Instead, we have more bullying and verbal insults, words that scar people for life. What happened to the world, the serenity and freedom? Where did all of the love, care, the better parts of life, disappear to? Instead, we have chaotic lives to deal with, and things not being as they seem. We have to think so much about what our next move is, Afraid of being the next victim, afraid of being viewed as judgmental. Now, there is always a storm, with no calmness before it. How do we survive without a nice, relaxing day, sitting in the beach with a cocktail in hand? How can everyone survive in this world without a break? I guess we are all forced to be accustomed with it, no matter how we all deny it. It's either we die out, or keep up with the world and survive, isn't it? No other ways around it. The past is in the past, a genuine saying right now in this day and age. Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery. Lets see what the next day brings...
