As the day beginsA Poem by Vasudha Jhingan
As the day begins ,
I wander into the green grounds Midst the mist, midst the trees Away from the global populace . I strive to find my inner self With Mother Nature surrounding me . The dewdrops on leaves so fresh , The smell of Earth cheering my soul . I feel if I may go on , I may find the truer me . And as I wander into the woods , deeper My senses tell me I am in danger. The growls echo thrusting me into oblivion I think I am lost , spiritually. I wake up in my bed of dusted leaves And see the blooded wounds on me . Yes, I was attacked by a mammal And was somehow saved by God's grace. Death will come and will never go And I must embrace it when it shall come . For I have realised the true mantra - The knowledge of " Carpe Diem " And I am sure I found myself In those woods between the mist and trees , For losing myself , I have found the real me . © 2017 Vasudha JhinganAuthor's Note
