I agree with Steel. There are such contrasts in this. War-like machines an attitudes as compared to a a little girl and a group of beauties. Beauty and dreadfulness exist together at times in our world. So do peace and danger. Side by side at times. Interpretations of observations make us who we are. Nice writing.
Well this about undid me today. I know this place well and spent much time on this island as a child - before they built the bridge in fact. Never thought to see the paradox as stated here.o. too busy being the girl plucking jewels from the sand. Thanks for stealing THAT memory. Kidding. A clear message of irony nicely wrapped in a beautiful sunny Southern California beach day.
To see the beauty within the smallest of things amongst the chaos is surreal. Sometimes the whirlwind can cause a moment of reflection... we all need to be still to capture the beauty of the day, even if for a moment. This is breathtaking write.
The contrasts, ironies, naked contradictions of life are truly incredible...as you have illustrated well in this poem. Difficult to get the mind around the extremes sometimes, as seen in one short walk.
what a world indeed. Smooth, home hitting write Z. We have to make a conscious effort to sift the grain from the chaff. Juxtaposition, at least we get a choice what we choose to put effort to noticing. A walk on the beach, a hike through the forest, it's good to stretch the legs..........
