A poem about nothing lasting for ever.

IT WAS A FINE NITE

ANCIENT SEA FLOOR NOW A DESERT BE

WITH CACTI, LIZARDS AND DECAYING TREES

ROCKS CRUSHED TO SAND THEN DUST

BLOWN TO AN EVAPORATING SEA

BIRDS FLYING ANCIENT ROUTES EVOLVING THROUGH

AS CONTINENTS MOVE UNDER THEIR WINGS

MORNING EMBERS OF FIRE DISSIPATE NIGHT

THE DESTRUCTION OF A STAR

Such an extraordinary drift into another place where history twirls on its own axis and time becomes .. a disappearing dot in space and mind.

It was a fine nite.... witty. You've been star gazing again. It's funny, how if you start looking at the stars long enough, especially if you can see the galaxy and all it's details clearly, that you begin to forget about the earthly presence. Your thoughts tend to be drawn up in the cosmic. The mortal importance of things seems to diminish...
Keep looking up Z.
