MY PRAYER

I'm not the organized religion type, but this is my attempt at a secular prayer.

Dear God

 

creator of the universe and beyond

 

           thank you for my many blessings.

 

Help me to better appreciate the wonder of your creation

 

      and to cope with the difficulties of life.

 

          Allow me to develop the strength to open myself up to life

 

    and embrace my connectedness with the universe

 

      and all the creatures in it.

 

          Give me the insight to see myself for who I am

 

             and to love myself

 

                knowing that you exist within me.

 

            Guide me with your wisdom to be a positive force in the world

 

             and through my actions to reflect the goodness of your spirit.

An admirable prayer and God is not about being organized in religion but being in touch with your self because if we don't love ourselves how can we love our neighbor as he commands?
