the children parte tresA Story by beautiful dreamerNora “Lissy!
Give it back!” I heard Roslyn scream. Oh darn it; I thought hurrying down the
stairs. The two have been getting more social together but they still have
problems with being nice. When I got to Roslyn’s library where the screaming
was coming from I saw Lissy up on one of the steps clutching her copy of princess
academy. “I want to read it again, you haven’t touched it in weeks!” she shouts
back at Rossi. Roslyn pulls back to strike Lissy with some earth control and I
rush to her side, pushing her arm down. “Girls, girls! Calm down! I have a copy
of it, Lissy you can borrow it.” I say calmly and Roslyn frowns. “Fine. This is
the last time I’m allowing HER on my floor.” She hisses up at Lissa and stomps
away. I sigh as I see Lissy’s lip quiver. They were doing so well. Lissa “I
shouldn’t of took that book...she liked me for a little while.” I sobbed into
Nora’s shoulder. “She still likes you Lissy she’s just upset.” She says and
pulls me closer, playing with my blonde locks. I could hear Rossi slamming
stuff around in her sewing room. I don’t know how many times she has stabbed
herself with a needle being angry with me. Too many times most likely. Then I
heard something weird. Crying. And it wasn’t mine. Nora was bus trying to help
me out but I heard the distinctive sound of Roslyn’s whimper. Roslyn Why
do I even care? It’s not like I even like either of them, I’m just forced to
live with them! Nora was down their comforting Lissy because I’m so mean when
she was the one whole stole the book that she let me borrow. She could of just
asked for it back. I’m not that scary. I stabbed my finger as I made another
stitch on Nora’s Christmas gift. “Ouch!” I yelped and looked at the little dot
of blood on my fingertip, oh the joys of being half human. If I were Lissy and
pricked my finger and yelped ouch nana would have been up here in seconds have
the blood gone up and the finger band-aided. But I’m not Lissa. I’m not as
important as her. Not to anyone in this house. I started crying at the thought.
Why did I care? Why did I care? Lissa I
went to her sewing room door and knocked quietly, holding the book I stole. She
creaked the door open like she usually does. “What?” she asked in a tone that
almost brought tears to my eyes until I saw her red-rimmed ones. I held out the
book. She looks at it. “Nora is letting me borrow hers. its fine Liss.” She
says waving me off, then began to creak the door back shut. I stopped the door
and stepped in the little messy sewing room. “No it’s not. I made you cry. Sure,
you made me cry too but you didn’t even have anybody to calm you down and I’m
sorry about that.” I say bravely. Her eyes soften a little at my little speech,
then she goes back to her snobby self and “Thanks Lissy, but I’m fine. Really
I’m sorry I snapped at you.” She says sitting down at her worktable. I wasn’t
taking that, I could see right through that. I was tired of her acting like we
were so much older and nothing mattered. We are only eight! i tapped her on the
shoulder. “Is not fine and you know it!” I say. She stands up ready for
confrontation, but instead I hug her. After a few seconds of awkwardness on her
behalf her arms relax around me and she hugs me back. “I love you Rossi.” I
whisper softly, careful not to break the trance. “I love you Lissy.” © 2012 beautiful dreamer |
