sleep baby sleep

sleep baby sleep

A Poem by beautiful dreamer

I toss and I turn

Sleep won’t come

I read for three hours

And it was still not enough

I forgot what it felt like

To be so empty

With no one to turn to

I forgot what that was like

That was a mistake

My hands are cold against my throat

As I tuck them there to sleep.

My fingers wrap around my neck

And I almost squeeze.

I feel so empty

I feel so alone

I forgot what this felt like

I pretended like I was having a relapse of it

But I wasn’t

Not until now.

Tears hit the pillow

My head is ablaze

My ice fingers find my cold throat again

I force myself to stop

There is no reason for this.

You are just going crazy

Sleep baby sleep
