Let GoA Poem by The Absence Of The Color GrayGrasping tightly, I let it go. In my hand it willn't grow. I set it free like a bird in flight, soaring through the dawn's first light.
Shattering glass sounds through the hills, though I bear you no ill will. Fly away like the birds, but I implore you to remember my words.
When there is love, there is pain, with the sun comes the rain. When people leave and the sun is gone, I'll be waiting for you every dawn.
I'll play all your records and cry through every cord. I'll sleep in your shirt, on the bed, cold and hurt. I'll honor your memory everyday, and try to forget your cold, gray grave.
I want to kiss you once more, But the man I loved died in war. I'll love you forever my dear, and I'll keep loving you through every passing year. © 2012 The Absence Of The Color GrayFeatured Review
