Waking Up Alone (1)A Chapter by <3Lil.Bit(:Twyla wakes up to find herself on a huge island, naked and clueless. She doesn't remember how she got there. She also discovers her new tattoo. The cool summer breeze twirled and whistled as it found its way out of the dense forest of the island. It danced down the sandy white beaches, going down to dip into the soft waves of the beautiful blue ocean every once in a while. The sun toasted the island lightly, making it comfortably warm.
It soon came across a ghostly pale body laying across the beach on the south side of the island. It caressed the girl's naked body, as if checking for any injuries. The salty ocean water lapped at her feet softly. The girl's eyes fluttered open, revealing deep pools of pale blue.
She jerked into a sitting position, wincing at the sudden sharp pain in her head and side. The girl ran her hands through her long tangled black hair, her bleached highlights glinting in the sunlight. She glanced around and took in her surroundings. The lush forest loomed over her, providings shade for her. Where am I? She asked herself as she slowly stood up. Her hands quickly brushed off the sand that stuck to her slim body. Then she noticed she was naked.
"Okay, where are my clothes!?" She asked to the air. Her eyes sweeped the area around her, making sure there wasn't any people. This is probably some silly joke. Closing her eyes for a second she looked down at the sand. A black object on her leg distracted her for a moment. She leaned down to look at it and gasped. A long tattoo of a snake twirled down her right leg, from her knee to her foot. The head rested on her foot, its eyes a blood red color.
Her breathing became ragged as she tried to calm herself down. She couldn't remember how she got here. The last thing she remembered was walking through the door of her apartment. It had been dark, the only window closed and the lights off.
"Mom?? Alec?? You guys home??" She had called into the empty darkness. After a few moments of no reply she threw down her pocket book by the door and made her way to the kitchen. She had called for her mom or brother once more as she flipped on the light. Then she remembered screaming then blackness engulfing her.
What did I scream for?? The girl asked herself, shivering but not from the cold.
And that was just the beginning of what lay ahead for Twyla on the island, her new home.
