Pathway's

"

The journeys that we encounter in love

"

It’s been a journey of love and hate, happiness and tears.

Two years ago marks the day my eyes first met yours, deep, blue and unknown.

I was on my path and you were on yours, but we somehow merged and before we knew it, it was no longer an individual journey but it was our journey.

Our journey was full of mountains and valleys, smooth roads and bumpy ones. There were sunny days and rainy days and sometimes if we were lucky there were rainbows. On the not so lucky days we got hailstorms, but through it all we powered on rain, hail or shine. We were inseparable; there was only one path for the both of us and it was comforting. You were mine and I was yours.

I had forgotten the time I walked alone on my journey, I had forgotten what it was like to climb to the top of the tallest mountain without any reliance, I had forgotten what it felt like when it was my journey, before it was ours. When our paths merged to become one, so did we.

Some days the path ahead was clear and some days in was hidden in the fog. Uncertainty arose when the path was hidden from view; it was a feeling of anxiousness and sometimes-sleepless nights. And when a new day rose and the fog had been cleared it was a feeling of hope.

However some journeys are eternal and some aren’t, some journeys run out of time or expire and others go on forever.

Our journey decided that we were destined to continue on without each other for a while on separate paths, maybe one day our paths will merge and it will become our journey again, but until then or if ever, my journey continues, there’s still mountains and valleys and smooth and bumpy roads and sometimes my journey is different without you, sometimes I miss you encouraging me up the steepest mountains and guiding me along the bumpy roads or keeping me company through the worst storms.

Sometimes I stare at the stars like we used to each night and it feels as if you’re still with me, I can hear the echo of your laughter when the sun goes to sleep and I see the blue of your eyes in all the oceans I come across.

Our journey may be over and mine will still continue on, but a part of you is with me forever and I will always remember the journey that we shared.

I enjoyed the poem. Real life teaches us what is sweet and what is not.
"However some journeys are eternal and some aren’t, some journeys run out of time or expire and others go on forever. "
The above lines are true. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I loved this story so much but I would suggest that you break it up little more so it's not a huge block of writing. It would make it more appealing to the eye. That's just a suggestion but if there was a metaphorical or symbolic meaning behind it don't mind it.

A bittersweet love story. Beautiful in its own way.
It was nicely written, though I would suggest, that if you like, you could write the poem in stanza form for better reading😊. But it's okay if you prefer it that way. Keep writing!

I just don't have words to praise this excellently penned and amazingly expressed poem. What a beautiful description you have given. There is a fine picturesque effect. This piece is universal. It applies to the lives of all those who have separated from the one they love. This piece brings out those feelings of true love you have for the person. Such a nice piece. Keep writing.
