The Sky Is Falling Down

The Sky Is Falling Down

A Poem by 122009

The things we do now

These actions we stress about

None of them matter

They’re useless to me

And nothing to you

Why, you ask?

Well, haven’t you heard?

The sky is falling down

And it’s bound to crush us all

You could try to make these last moments your best

Making sure to really enjoy the time you’ve got left

Happy thoughts, joyful memories

That’s all well and good, my friend

But does it even matter?

No, not in the end

Because the sky is falling down

And it’s bound to crush us all

There’s no escape from this

No way of avoidance

We’ve been informed

We know what comes next

Was it really worth it?

Oh, what’s the difference?

Haven’t you heard?

The sky is falling down

And it’s bound to crush us all

Once you’ve been crushed

Once this world crushes us all,

We can’t look back

We can’t think about what went wrong

We’re done and gone

Acceptance isn’t necessary

Do as you please

Think what you will

But all of it is inconsequential now

Why?

Well, the sky is falling down

It’s about to crush us all
