Just OnceA Poem by 122009Slowly she’s fading Fading away from her precious reality The walls she’s built have crumbled down Who does she have to turn to now?
Her hopes have been shattered All of her thoughts tangled up and spun around Nothing has made sense for a while now
She’s feeling desperate All of this is just too much Her mind is spinning Nothing good is coming
It’s all a blur She grabs the blade Just once should be enough
The stinging pain reminds her she’s still alive Her movement chased by a thin red line The same line she’s seen too many times before But it’s not enough, she needs more
She draws the line again And again Each time a little faster Each time a little deeper
Her vision is blurred by the tears in her eyes She’s shaky and cold Scared and alone
Now she cannot even trust herself She puts the blade down But knows in the back of her mind This will not be the last time © 2010 122009Reviews
