If you never get this letter

If you never get this letter

A Chapter by Ashley.M.E
"

Another tribute to my grandfather

"

Why does life keep going on

When all you cared about is gone

It seems so wrong

I know that I have to be strong

And keep living in this world

Of fear and regret

Please try to understand

I will never forget who you were

Life keeps going

And your light is going out

By your spirit will always live in us

I will remember you

Just like all of those who cared so much for you

Just try to remember

Even if you never

Ever

Get to read this letter

Grandfather I still love you

I try to be strong, no tears on my face

Still the memories will never ease the pain

They think I don’t care

If you were here or not

They think I’m too young

But I know that you’re gone from this world

To heaven the place you believed in

Why does it in so suddenly

For those that you know as family

We will remember thee

Life keeps going

And your light is going out

By your spirit will always live in us

I will remember you

Just like all of those who cared so much for you

Just try to remember

Even if you never

Ever

Get to read this letter

Grandfather I still love you

Our world is slowly changing

Peoples actions getting more evil manipulative

And I know that you were a holy man

Even if not a priests or always had a bible at hand

You cared for others and they cared for you

And you cared so much to die so cruelly

To die so suddenly…

Still that doesn’t change how I feel.

Life is getting harder

And you’re already gone

Your life is not over

Though I know that you are gone.

Just look down from heaven

Or were ever you

See that you have someone looking up at you

Like a god you are.

I will remember you

Just like all of those who cared so much for you

Just try to remember

Even if you never

Ever

Get to read this letter

Grandfather I still love you

I cannot even describe. He was loved by so many and maybe not as famous as Michal Jackson or all those other celebrities, but I have to say he had lives a holy-er life, even if I am not exactly holly myself.

Nicely done and even more nicely written I like this a lot it's beautiful and made me choke up a bit. I guess if the letters sent and you never recieve it what a shame that is and imagine the sadness upon ones face. Nicely done always nice to read something of yours ^_^

Wonderful Poem. The rhyme, the deep message, the patronage to such a great person. I feel i can connect and relate to this loss. I lost my grandma this year..Thank you Ash. I am glad that you wrote this one..I know it must have really pent up inside you and you had to write this one. But i sincerely thank you for writing this. Our generation has become so self centered that they overlook and disregard the most important people in their life. Im proud you didnt. Great job..

This was nicely done...it is sad though...I know how you feel though...because when I was in second grade I lost my grandfather...and I know you know this...but it's true....I still remember some memories and every January is hard on me...because I remember him and I want to cry..he died on the last day of January..and that day will always be sad...so I do truly know how you feel...I'm very sorry...

Wow, words can not express what I thought of this poem. It was extremely emotional and made me think about my mother, father, and grandparents who have passed on. From the works I have read of yours, this one is up there. It is actually one of the best poems I've read on this site so far. It was emotional and very personal. I'm very sorry for your loss, but I know your grandfather must be really proud of you. I'm also giving this a 100/100 which is a first for me on this website. This is a fine piece, and I think anyone who has lost someone should see it.

"By your spirit will always live in us" - did you mean "But...."

Also, "Why does it in so suddenly" - "in" should be "end"

"Even if not a priests" - take the second "s" off of "priests"

"Or were ever you" - "were ever" should be "wherever"

Now, as for the poem (aside from the grammatical stuff), it was very heartfelt and touching. I feel the same about my grandfather and grandmother. Both have passed, but I still miss them very much. Well done.

Im sure he was reading over your shoulder embracing you as you typed away. They say the younger are closer to god, dont let anyone convince you that you are too young to understand. Thank you for sharing such a personal and touching piece, it was a joy to read :)

I was raised by two strong and wonderful Grandparent. I know the lost of someone we can't replace in our life. I know he knows how you loved and appreciate him with your kind and beautiful words. A outstanding poem and memory.
