how do i say i care without sounding like i am in love

how do i say i care without sounding like i am in love

A Poem by Sho Aishe
"

even if we go our separate ways, i would still remember you; like a thought stashed somewhere at the back of my mind.

"
i have, admittedly, written poems for you

it's funny because
i
don't know much about poetry

but i've learned to weave the words
just right
knew its secrets through countless
attempts of
finding a home for
the wandering thoughts
carrying a part of your unknown name

with it

i once wanted to love people
the way poets do
but then i came to realise that poets
are perhaps masochists
or maybe that's just me
pretend i am a poet,
for instance,

i'm fond of the way how
a stray strand
of your existence
tugs at my heartstrings
tugs at my hand
tugs at the letters
and arrange them
like how fate arranges
the lives of mortals

victims of time
puppets of destiny
cursing their feet to dance
on the stage
set for them to play

a puppet like i am
is fond
of fate and its merciless way
to write stories

but i am more fond of the memories
created on that stage
with you

if i loved in
the way poets do
maybe then i could've
made something
beautiful
out of
the tragedy of our strings being
ripped apart
by the puppeteer

but i love like a soothsayer
aware of how at some point in the
chapter
the characters would get shifted,

reshuffled
changed
mixed

until the ones on the same page
are

dragged
bounded

inevitably
to never be on the same
story again

and i'm damned to only reminisce
of your existence
through beats , hums,
tunes
songs

through floating
'what if's' at the edge of dawn
at the brink of breakdowns
wondering
where you could've gone

through instances of which
i stay and read
our acts together
reviving the memories
until my eyes bleeds

to be fond of you
as a soothsayer
is much more masochistic
than to be fond of you
like how the poets do

Sho Ashe,
There are many who write poems but few who are true poets... I think you should think of yourself as a powerful wordsmith... The subject of this poem is so over worked it is almost useless to even think about writing one more silly love poem. But WOW! Everything about your approach is fresh and vibrant, and youe images stunning... "
"victims of time

I am impressed by your great skill and deep insights!
