Illusions We Hide Behind

Illusions We Hide Behind

A Poem by Joslynn Decker

We walk an optical illusion
Blind to all that is real
Twists and turns
Confusion all around
Insolvable puzzles
Pieces put together in wrong ways
Trying to hide the mistakes
Some are too visible
But we do not realize this
Not knowing our world from a projection on the wall
The fake Shakespearean words that aren't yet understood
This is our optical illusion
The greatest powers wound together
A ball of yarn in a knot We can not untangle
Maybe this didn't make sense
But that's just it
Are the words I speak truth
Or just another maze to the mind
A mystery that we don't understand
Another "what is the meaning of life?"
