Riptide

Riptide

A Poem by 1000sleeps

Grief is a walk you take alone,
or so they say.
There are supporters,
but as you search the crowds,
the one you seek is nowhere to be found.
The one you need to hold your hand,
to get you through this journey,
cannot be seen,
but they do walk beside you and
try to give you the signs,
that they're there with you always.
But the signs are hard to see,
when grief is a riptide,
not everyone can stay afloat in.
