BLACK INCENSE

BLACK INCENSE

A Poem by ByeBye

You
Gliding through skies in that pristine glass castle
Above me walking barefoot on blue marble
And I below, sculpted by lovers as a statue of crushed brown paper bags
Smoking in holy ruins into the form of a choking poisoned infidel
Oh your cheers from higher heaven, relaxing voices
Blue smiles and soft comforts riding on backs of lashed angels
My mind, a mirror of azure clouds
And across that sky streaks your golden chariot
Drawing it are spirits of my unrest
Oh the elegance we shared in silence
Now shows in the calm visage of your gleaming rider
Tonight I rise on the electric currents of a black storm
To rage embers against the firefly golems at your portcullis gates
And float on thermals to your bright vaulted chambers
Where my vile substances still burn in your lamps to light our disintegrating love
You
Walking through my ashes with blackened feet
Day is gone and a mocking moon climbs indigo clouds like stars on ocean waves
Sleep now, for you will live the nightmare of me in the chalk white morning
When I have drowned your lover in the charcoal craters of your jasmine scented sheets
Where in the venom mires of my memory and despair
He collapsed to the flaming depths under the truth of his inadequacy

Very intense and descriptive. I love the last line.
