A Poem by anonymous

you haunt me;
taunt me
mock me
and bury me deep
within the depths of
despair

you overpower the
joy and laughter
others created
and you loom over me
with a oh so terrifying
and lingering smirk

but i smile
because who would ever believe
something like you
would ever happen to me

The last stanza makes this poem very haunting! I'd be interested to see what this is actually about - but sometimes a writer never tells :) The feeling of this poem is great!
