Return to me

Return to me

A Poem by Arthur Russell

My tears pour onto the page like blood
Straight from my heart they blight the page
Emotions flow uncontrolled through words
Blowing me in a tide of hurt
It's spirit seeps out as mist
Come closer to my soul

The loneliness is overbearing
My heart has become intertwined
With one that is not there
Clasping at air I cannot grip
Come back to me I'm lost
Explore my unknown path

Could I ever feel for annother so worthy
Is this the one I'll never find again
A fleeting glimpse of what might be
Enough to leave me reeling in your wake
Am I condemned to run behind
And hope you may look back at me
