Love not blossomed

Love not blossomed

A Poem by Arthur Russell

So hard to find the words for how I feel
My heart throbs deep the blues that poets sing
A sea of emotion swamps my waking
She is the land I yearn for with my all

How can I escape the depths of my heart
I want to break the hold
To escape to my fortress of logic
It cannot penetrate the wave

My heart goes out to one so trapped as I
Although her cage is not the same as mine
To not be free to fly the course of love
Pity for potential what we could be
