The Lost Girl in Miami *A Poem by J.R.the prequel to The Moonlight Along the Shorelines storyThe
Lost Girl in Miami How
it feels to be alive, don’t you get that sometimes? Have you walked
down strange corridors of unknown numbered furnished wood
to glance and feel the hairs above your neck rise? The ocean Hungry
yet glad to be upon its surface invites those doors to open and clutter. The
ocean lost in tangled crust of earth holds many things I
cannot see but bear to obtusely imagine. I wonder Does it love like me? Gambling
nights and stupor suppers, exotic forest of music and unfamiliar women but- Does it love like me? It
cannot. It will not. Mazes
in experiences I have never dealt with, my purpose was to… Another
gambling round and I’ve won another again, another round they say, Or
I thought I heard, as the ships anchor launchers overboard in waves of disgust. Feet
on new lands, mysterious to eyes, tongues in different rhythms, Eyes
that have never been open before. Will
I see her, feel her, will I be able to see again? Lost
shadows and bright moons, put the ocean at ease. Abstracts
never seemed so beautiful in a world eyes have never seen. Palm
trees and another journey under a star that never sleeps. Does it love like me? Searching
for something it could never shine on, and
the moon placing cover on floors that have creaked to loudly. Maybe
I am like them, and instead of searching, hopes she finds me.
