Soul of Light CH2

Eva Genessi got informed of her rare ability, she then began to practice and study to control her new ability and magic style. With the help of new-found friends.

Eva first attended to her new class of this new year, she was moved to a new, more advanced, class with the most talented students of the college. As she ran through the hallways looking at the big clock on the end of the hall, she knew she was going to be late...or was she?

Chapter 2: Revelation.

As Eva ran through the college hallways she was mumbling to herself. "No I can't be late, damnit! Why am I such a heavy sleeper." The classroom was in her sight, she ran to the door and reached for the doorknob.
She could already hear talking inside the room, she was definitely too late. She took a deep breath and walked in already apologizing without looking into the class. "I'm so sorry that I'm-." Eva looked up and saw Mr Phoenix with a smile on his face. "Here is your new student Mrs Arcada, I told you she would be a bit too late, but I take full responsibilty of this as this is her first day, could you make an exception for this time?" Mr Phoenix walked towards Eva, he looked at her for a brief moment as he turned to the students.
"Everyone, this is Eva Genessi, she is the one with the ability to amplify her magic by feelings, so please, don't make her mad or irritated because I don't want to fix these walls again." Mr Phoenix then turned to Mrs Arcada. "I hope she won't be any trouble to you Anna, if she is, just send her to me." Mr Phoenix then went out the class, leaving Eva standing there, observing her new class. "I...ehm...Hello everyone, as the High Councellor said, I'm Eva Genessi, but please, just call me Eva." She was quite nervous as she turned her face to Mrs Arcada.
"It's alright to be nervous Eva, go sit over there by Mr Terral so we can start the class." Mrs Arcada pointed towards this brown haired guy with a dark-green coat trimmed with silver lining, as a matter of fact, everyone was wearing a coat with trimmed linings, some were silver and some gold.
"Alright Mrs Arcada." Eva went to sit near Mr Terral, she laid her bag on the floor, taking out a notebook and a pen.
"Everyone, please listen, this lesson is going to be about controlling your magic particles running trough yourselves, it's rather complex but surely needed so you won't get destructive." Mrs Arcada turned to the board as she wrote some formula's and other explanations, meanwhile Eva got distracted again, Lady Light...she kept thinking about what it had to mean, she never ever heard of that name, why did Shadakai call her that?
"Uhm, Eva, are you paying attention?" Said Mr Terral as he poked Eva's shoulder.
"Eh..oh yes uhm, hello, sorry, I was dreaming off..." She grabbed her pen again to write down everything that was on the board, but it had already been erased.
"No...s**t, I didn't write anything down, and Mr Phoenix said this would be a very important subject for me."
Mr Terral reached for his paperworks as he pulled a copy out, he smiled.
"Here Eva, before you came in Mr Phoenix already told us about your habit of dreaming off, I got assigned to keep an eye out for you in class, I am not supposed to write things down for you, but I don't mind doing it this once for you." He gave her the notes with everything on there that seemed important to her. "So you're like a legal stalker now huh? Well that's fun, thank you Terral."
"My pleasure Eva." He started paying attention to class again, Eva did aswell.

After an hour or so the class ended, Mrs Arcada let the students go, except for Eva. "I saw you dreamt off again Eva, is there anything on your mind?"
"Well...there is actually but it's quite silly Mrs Arcada, I'll be over it tomorrow, I'm sorry for not paying attention." As Eva packed her bag.
"It's not silly if it keeps you from paying attention Eva, maybe if you told me I could help you with it?" Mrs Arcada sat down on her desk.
"Well, I am sure you've heard about the infiltration of Shadakai, when he struck down Mr Phoenix he called me Lady Light, It just seemed like a name but ever since I heard it I keep thinking about it, I don't know why it feels so important to me..." Eva sighed as she stood up.
"L-lady Light you say?" Mrs Arcada looked a bit shocked. "Eva...you have never heard of Lady Light?"
"No...I don't think so, why Mrs Arcada? Is something wrong?"
"No, Nothing is wrong...please come with me Eva." Mrs Arcada grabbed her key from the drawer of her desk as she walked out the classroom together with Eva heading for the Grand Library. 'Why are we going to the library Mrs?" Eva looked around a bit, she had never been here, she didn't care much for studying or reading before so why would she? Well, maybe she had been her a few times, but not to read, oh no. She did remember a few pranks she pulled here.

"You'll see Eva, I think that which I'm going to show you will explain you what and whom Lady light was." Mrs Arcada walked into the Grand Library together with Eva, they went to the far end of this huge room. There was a small glass cabinet with a few books in it, Mrs Arcada opened it with her key, she took this book out and gave it to Eva. "You should read this when you get the chance Eva, I'm sure you'll be interested of the contents of this particulair book." Mrs Arcada went out of the library. "I'll be seeing you tomorrow in class Eva."

Eva took the book to her room, she looked at it, it didn't even had a title.
"This is strange, this book doesn't have any text, I don't get it."
Eva ran her fingers over the book's cover. Just as the lock, the book lighted up a little and some carvings started to show. "Anima de Lumine" It said.
"Anima de Lumine? I don't know this language..." Eva opened the book, running her fingers over the pages, they also lit up, the whole book was written in the same language, tho as she couldn't read it, she knew it was important.
"Domina Lumen, renascentur, vincere tenebras" Was shown onto the page. She wrote it down knowing Mrs Arcada or Mr Phoenix might know what it meant, she started going trough the book, touching every page, text lighted up in the same language over and over again, she felt some parts were important and wrote them down. "Quaerite statera", "quaerite, et collarium", "quaerite fortitudinem", "quaerite sapientia".

It was late in the night, but Eva couldn't sleep, she was looking at the ceiling again, the words felt like they were printed into her mind. She decided to go to the Teacher's Wing, where all the teachers were staying, she softly knocked onto Mrs Arcada's door. "Mrs Arcada, It's Eva." She whispered.

The door opened slowly, Mrs Arcada standing there rubbing her eyes, yawning.
"Eva, what are you doing here so late, it's forbidden to be out at these times, and surely to come in the Teacher's Wing."
"I know Mrs Arcada...But, I have read the book and I think this is really important." Mrs Arcada opened the door. "Alright then, come in Eva, but don't make it too long, I have a busy day tomorrow."
"Thank you Mrs Arcada, here, I saw these words when I opened the book, they lit up on the empty pages and I felt like they were important to me." She handed her paper to Mrs Arcada who was putting on her glasses, reading the words, as she gasped and looked at Eva. "Eva...do you know what this all means?"
"I have no clue Mrs Arcada, that's why I came to you, is it important?" Eva sat down on a chair, looking at Mrs Arcada.
"From what I'm reading, you are indeed Lady Light, to know more about the legendary behind the name you should read the book, I can teach you the language, but these things you've written down, they are important, it says: "Seek Balance", "Seek the Necklace", "Seek Strength", "Seek Wisdom". And this first sentence is quite remarkable aswell Eva."
As Eva was writing down everything Mrs Arcada said she looked up at her. "What does it mean Mrs Arcada?"
"Lady Light, will be reborn, to conquer the darkness." Mrs Arcada folded the paper, burning it. "Noone can know the contents of the book but you Eva, not even Mr Phoenix, and me neither aswell, that's why I am going to teach you the language, these are secrets only destined for Lady Light."
"Thank you for everything Mrs Arcada, I'm excited for what's in there, I'll see you tomorrow in class." Eva took her paper, also burning it as she had remembered every word Mrs Arcada told her. "Be there on time tomorrow Eva, we will be practicing this language after class tomorrow aswell, now, sleep well Eva."
"Sleep well Mrs Arcada." Eva sneaked out Mrs Arcada's room, back to her own room, it was time to put her mind to rest. Again, she had discovered more about herself, and more importantly, about Lady Light.

"The Necklace...Seek the Necklace...I guess I have already found the Necklace, thank you Grandparents, even when you guys are not around anymore, you two are still able to help me." Looking at the Necklace in her hand she smiled. She tied it around her neck, holding the white-silver emblem. She then fell asleep, waiting for the new day to come to a beginning.

There is some latin there, I don't really learned latin, so I tried to translate it as best as I could. Other than that, enjoy reading and be critic, I don't mind :).
