Chapter 2

"Where are you taking me?" I asked the boy pulling me along.

"Walk now, i'll explain later."

"No," i pulled me arm away from him and stopped.

"We can't stop," he came back and grabbed my arm again trying to be gental, "please. We're  almost at the end of the alley."

I closed my eyes and nodded, sighing. I kept going down the alley. We finally came out at the end. Two horses stood waiting, tied to a pole. The boy came up  to me and looked at my confused face. "Please... get on... the horse. This is very important. You need to trust me."

"I dont even know you. How can you even think im going to trust you?"

"Because you have to or everyone you love is going to die."

I felt my eyes go big, "Die? Y...you mean... someone's gonna kill them?"

He looked down and I didn't know what to do so i simply hicked up my green and beige dress, grabbed the horn on the saddel and swung myslf up onto the back of the palamino. The boy landed lightly on the back of the black stallion just seconds after me. The black horse let out a loud winny and the boy turned him around and began riding off down the deserted street. I sighed still wondering if i was doing the right thing by following someone I didn't know.

"Come on! We don't have alot of time!" he yelled behind him.

I closed my eyes then directed my horse to follow him.

An hour later we weren't galloping any more. We were walking. Along a ridge miles out of Wildfax.

"So who are you?" i asked coming up right beside the boy. He didn't answer so i grabbed the reins of his horse making it stop. He turned to look at me. I let go of his reins and simply said, "My name is Neessa."

"Jamendithas. Im a warrior from Redwater."

"Redwater? That's a... a town of... of..."

"I know."

"A warrior from a town of death and blood shed is wanting me? For what exactly? What are you gonna do to me?"

"I need you. Redwater needs you." He paused, looked away from me, then back at me. "Middle Earth needs you."

"What is going on? I need to know. I can't go on without knowing WHY i'm trying to save my family."

 "You know Lord Rictumal?"

I froze for a second then tried to hide it, "Doesnt everyone. He's a sorcerer. A Lord. PURE evil."

"About a month ago, he killed my family. My mother, my father and then, right before my eyes, he killed my babysister. I never loved anyone more than her. She was my pride and joy. No matter what she always made me smile. He decapitated her right before my eyes."

"I'm so sorry. I had no idea. I... i'm sorry."

"It's not your fault. This is why i need you. I knew your mother."

........................................................................................................................................................................................................

"She can't have be. If she was, that would mean i am and i am most definatly not. I'm... i'm not special. I never have been. My mother was taken from me two years ago. My father hasn't spoken to me since and i was left to raise my little brother on my own."

"Your mother was a Mage. So are you. There's only one way i can prove it to you. Just up ahead there's a small river is a small valley. I wanna show you your history."

......................................................................................................................................................................................................

"Here!" Jamendithas through a long thick stick at me and I caught it barley even knowing it. "Ready," he took a fighting standce with a stick of his own. I looked at my stick and sighed. I grabbed the middle, putting my left arm out to the side, spreading my legs apart and holding the pole horizontal, I hoped I was ready for whatever Jamendithas was going to throw at me.

In a split second, Jamendithas was infront of me bringing his pole done intop of me and I didn't even have time to think, so my reflexas  reactedquicker than i thought possible for something i had no experience in. My weapon came up infront of me and then came hard in conntact with Jamendithas's pole. He attaced again and again, until, finally, my pole came down on his from above and the force was so strong it knocked him to the ground. My hair fell out of its bun and floated, long and bonde around my shoulders framing my face.

Jamendithas looked up at me from the flat of his back, "whoa," he said slightly dazed.

I blushed and my already flushed face turned brighter red, "no kidding," I replied.

Standing up again, Jamendithas strode over to me, grinning slightly. He looked perfectly hadsome but i tried not to let the pleasure show on my face. "I love how im always right," he said as he came within inches of me. He was much taller than me and his eyes smiled into mine.

I tried not to smile and kept a straight face. "Well to be perfectly honest, you cant say that we were both just a little surprised." I was trying to gane some of my pride back.

"Alright," he agreed, "slightly impressed."

I smirked and turned around, tossing my hair into his face as i left.

"Come on," he said walking ahead of me, "Middle Earth waits for no one but leaves everyone else waiting for war."

"What? You didn't say anything about war."

"What else do you expect when you here Redwater, Middle Earth, need help and mage all in the same sentance?"

"Hope i guess. I want  to expect that war isn't part of the equasion."
