Faith Has Failed

Faith Has Failed

A Poem by .Asa.Rose.
"

Hehe, the first of my poems that I actually like...Hope you do too.

"

Staring up into the sky,
as if Heaven awaits you.
When will you realize it does nothing but reflect all the wasted dreams?
But alas, I fear it's too late for you now...
Far too late...to abandon being 'saved'.

Cold autumn rain falls down into the city,
on the invisible men in the streets.
The men without voices, without meaning
Men who are deserving of their despair?

"Life, Death, and the pursuit of me"
So the Lord says, so shall it be.
Casting indifference to those who have no belief.
Where is all the charity?
Where is our saviour now?
Prove our faith has meaning, prove it to me now.

Heretics and Satanists
I guess we're all the same.
Caged in blaspheming lies
Killing those who spread the "Good Word", in a shameful rise to fame.

Red moonlight shines down upon you,
inflamed and full of rage.
The hand of God beholds you,
your blood drips on the page.

The demons all have found you,
The  crucifix has bound you,
worlds shall burn, and your blood be spilt in vain.

"Life, Death, and the pursuit of me"
So the Lord says, so shall it be.
Raining down with vengeance on those who won't believe.
Where is the mercy?
Shouldn't faith be free?

Miscreants will face him
while his followers shall burn.
Faithful are imperfect
Faithless need not learn.

Divinity has shamed us,
belief has brought us down.
Faith has finally failed us!
But we'll continue on.

...Thank God.

I feel like there's a lot of despair being spoken here. Like someone of powerful faith is slowly seeing how everyone else suffers, and really and truly wants their god to help them, to save them all. Maybe they're starting to disbelieve in their god, to not have faith anymore..
I'm not sure how this was meant, because I myself am an atheist, but this was a very strong poem. Good job!
