I am sitting alone in a room full of lovers
A room full of liars, and killers and cheats.
The words float around me in lavender rhythm
Keeping in beat with the flow of their lips.
The clock ticks so softly and yet that’s all I hear
No eyes are on me but I feel their stares.
My thoughts come unglued
As the hot winter air embraces my mind.
Whispers, enchanting
My eyes follow their tongues
As they form all the words I don’t know.
Their voices are growing, soft lights in the darkness above.
Amber eyes blink, they’re glaring at me
Could they possibly know I can see?
I sink deeper to shadows and silence my breathing
The strained humid breathing no more.
It’s moving towards me
The soft lines of lavender gold are unfolding
I see now the horrors of such…
Of such a wonderful place.
My body is pinned to the concrete
Reality comes back to view
I see the moon shining above me
I cringe from the cold and go blind.
Screams are sounding around me
They’re trying to save me
But they’re wrong…oh so wrong
I was happy before, please let me return to my heaven
For I will live in this wasteland no more.
