Possibly?

Possibly?

A Poem by Kristin Brecoe

I think I love him,

I don't mean to be cliché,

I don't mean to love him either.

It's just there,

This feeling so strong,

I want to shout it to the world.

But I can't,

My heart belongs else where,

And I'm confused.

We have such a platonic love

That swells each and everyday,

But we know we are just friends.

It's priceless,

Him and I,

To have what we have.

I feel silly,

Wanting to wrap myself

In his burly arms.

I feel guilty,

Daydreaming of him,

His gentle being.

There was a time

When I knew I loved him

As just a friend.

Months have passed,

And this love has grown,

And I've began to worry.

Is this friendship

Supposed to grow any more,

Than it has bloomed.

Am I suppose to love him,

When at the same time,

He is almost a brother?

Profound emotions that so many of us have experienced. You hit them dead on. Very nice piece.

I like this a lot actually! It is exposing your true, raw feelings without trying to be all "poseur cryptic poetess", if you know what I mean. I love the rhythm you constantly maintain throughout this piece. It's very eye-opening and let's me get into your mind -- as weird as that sounds. Keep on writing! I really enjoyed this :)
