Give Me Time

Give Me Time

A Poem by Kristin Brecoe

words clustered
in my heart, my mind,
and i am at a loss
for days come,
and nights go,
but the pain of
your departure
remains.

i've lamented,
i've regretted,
i've accepted,
but the ache hasn't stopped.

i don't know
what i shall do
when i return
to where you once were,
so full,
so alive,
so grand.

i don't know
what I shall say
when others ask
how i'm coping,
how i'm breathing
without lying.

i'm not ready
to speak
to walk
upon that ground
we shared,
but will never more.

too many words,
emotions,
crowd my mind,
holding me back.

i am weak,
i'll finally admit,
i just can't go,
not quite yet.

please,
let me find my ground,
don't force me ahead,
like someone else
has been doing.

one day,
hopefully soon,
i'll have the courage,
The Courage to see
what we had,
and what we lost,
is Alright,
And I Can move on.

once day----> ONE day.
That's the only thing found wrong. You don't know how badly I'd love to hear a song with these lyrics... It'd just have to be gorgeous. I love how nothing is much is capitalized, like it's all just coming out. That kinda stopped with the last stanza, but I don't think it's a bad thing. Great poetry. You're so talented at expressing yourself. I envy.
