Lack of Wit.

Lack of Wit.

A Poem by Kristin Brecoe

Words crippled her to the floor,

As she took one more breath,

Aiming for wit she could never have

To strike back

At this venomous man,

Who took her for granted.

AMAZING! :) It tells such a vivid story with so few words. The last line, I think, says the most, although
"Aiming for wit she could never have
To strike back
At this venomous man..."
tells the specific story of a woman who is finding passive aggressive ways to "strike back", as you put it. Could almost call this a ballad, even with its length (or lack thereof). ANOTHER great piece.

A sad, realistic brief poem.
The woman's helplessness is almost transmitting pain.

I would try to make a story around this.
