April Fools

April Fools

A Poem by Kristin Brecoe
"

In memory of Coach Lowery, a guy I never met. RIP [March 31, 7:59 PM]

"

Shed a few tears,

And stifle that laugh

Etched across your face.

Don't even think

Today's the day

For your foolish pranks.

It's time to pay respect

To a man who has left us,

And ascended to his fate.

He was a Father,

A Son,

A Coach.

He was a Teacher,

Who did more than teach;

He loved.

He embraced the faculty,

his students and players,

In hopes to create a family.

He touched the souls

Of everyone he met,

Even those who haven't.

He was a Dolphin,

And will remain one forever;

He was OUR Coach Lowery.

Author's Note

Kristin Brecoe
I was affected by the death of a man who meant a lot to my school. I never met him, or even caught a glimpse of him until I checked the obituaries. There is something so strong at our school, and it's there because of his bonds with many students and staff members.

What a wonderful tribute to a beloved person. I'm sure he will be missed, but not forgotten.
