A Chapter by Kristin Brecoe
"

Too tired to write.

"

 Dear Diary,

These dreams are just too much to bear. I'm so exhausted and fearful. I haven't been able to keep my head up during breakfast and supper.  Actually, I haven't been able to keep my head up for days.  Bob noticed my obvious fatigue, and politely asked if I was sleeping well. Not really needing to tell him anything, I lifted my head just enough for him to get a glimpse of my bloodshot eyes, too tired to stay open.

I'm sorry, I really wanted to write more, but I can't keep my eyes open to see where my pen marks. I can barely think of what to write. I don't want to ramble, and waste these precious pages. I'm going to head off to dinner, maybe I can find tea or something of the sorts to waken me up a bit.

Mary

Very good. Just what you would expect in a diary. Great job.
