Letting Go Of What Haunts Me

Letting Go Of What Haunts Me

A Poem by Nikky with broken wings,

Life and death are all the same.

You can't see one without taking the blame.

Your dreams whisk past you without a glance,

Never even thinking to give you a chance.

As a tear drips down your face,

Slowly but surely with gentle grace.

You realize that it's not getting better,

And that your eyes aren't getting any wetter,

And your blood won't get any redder.

You look up to your death,

And take your last breath.

And hold it.

Letting it go.

You realize that's what you need to do.

Let it go, let it slip through

Let it pass, let it slide.

Now that you have nothing left to hide.

You close your eyes and turn away.

Never returning back to that day.

You close your eyes, let it seep through.

Because now, he does not belong to you.
