I Can SwimA Poem by Alana Zombiei can.
I watched the sea pour over my eyes Blanketing my pupils with a layer of salt And the deeper I swam The colder I began To feel as my lungs became full of life Fingertips grazing the surfacing scene And a droplet of sincerity comforting me I can swim, I can swim I’ll never come home because I’ve found me I hide inside the shell of my youth And sit in an artery, pumping my brains Through the tunnels Through the sea © 2009 Alana Zombie |
