What I've Learned

What I've Learned

A Poem by Alana Zombie
"

simply, because its true.

"

i'm learning how to tell the truth
i'm acknowleging that it's time to grow up
i've found the hardships of leading a party life
and i know what really matters

honesty is the greatest gift you could ever give your lover
deception is merely the enemy
temptation and desire aren't too far behind deception
morality is impossible if you can't respect yourself

i'm no longer afraid of potential threats
i've seen how hurtful one simple act can be
i'm learning how to do the right thing
and trust me, it IS rocket science

this is a good poem. two suggestions: make the font larger and make stanzas. each four-line section, in my opinion, can be emphasized a bit more by linebreaks than by color alone.
nice job with the repetition of sentence structure. it ties all the lines together quite well.
all of the things you said are so true...it's good to have them all said in plain english in one place. thanks.

Wow. I really liked this. I think it might've been the simplicity of the diction, so I wasn't trying to pick out what every little detail meant. I really liked the comparison between then and now. "Morality is impossible if you can't respect yourself" - I think that's a great line and it starts to make the reader see the transition.
