1019 The WorldA Poem by Alana ZombieTo someone special.
A profile of a smile A soft and mossy eye Serene in voice and speak A chuckle to comply In turn, a supple kiss Rough hands and purple skin Hair, the sea, heart of fire Alongside tones that pin My grimness to the ground Rape of the human flesh Telling you I like you But its love I must profess Colour me cliché, today I fret from seeming so The blackness of my eyes Is not the purple of my soul We can catch the nearest bus I’ll sail the sea with you Or we could spend our 4 at dusk Reading a book or two Childlike, your eyes seep down Your docile face in turn That cunning grin that That warming touch, it burns To simplify the common lie As we lie awake in bed Vivid thoughts arouse me Wanting in your construed head And for the nights I lay alone Smiling at your mere thought I ponder ways to tell you How I feel and that whole lot I struggle for a verse That explains, without heed The longing that I have for you The worlds that I precede But a variation of this truth That I fret to compose, dear Leaves me wordless in the angst That it’s all due to my fear Of pointing out your smile For I know you, you would blush You would deny, deny, deny it And the room would creep in hush Your profile still dangles In my soft and browning eye Serene in voice and speak My world to comply © 2008 Alana Zombie |
