Flicker Like a Porch Light

Flicker Like a Porch Light

A Poem by Alana Zombie
"

Just a poem about that one person in your life who can never seem to just forgive.

"

Melting willow, whisper in the presence

Of anything that bared your branches quite some time ago

Winter hour, flicker like a porch light

To the tune of anyone or anything at all

Shrieking storms, whistle in the absence

Of those who dare to dream, dare to utilize their nights

Whisper in a half, no, quarter limerick springing

Daze of glory, betrayal, ponder excoriating measures

Dirty girl, use your snakebite for a soul

Regain the faith in those who tore you down
