What If...?

What If...?

A Poem by ~ Czarina Iris ~
"

What if these questions go on unanswered? What will become of me then? What will I do if I don't know where to turn? What will I do when I reach the end?

"
What if the trees were lollipops
And the clouds were cotton candy?
What if the sky never ends?
What if the stars are made of honey?

What if we were made of sugar
And couldn't play in the rain?
What if we couldn't go out through the day
Because the sun made us burst into flames?

What if I'm scared of being home alone
And of things that go bump in the night?
What if I dream that I'm all by myself
Lost with no guiding light?

What if I lose my very best friend
Because I was right and her wrong?
What if she hates me and I only see
Just how much I need her when she's gone?

What if I don't know what I want to be
When I am fully grown?
And what if I fail and all my dreams die?
What if I have nowhere to call home?

What if I grow up too fast
And miss childhood and all its wonder?
What if it quickly passes me by
Just like the sound of the rolling thunder?

What if fairy tales are just stories
And dreams don't really come true?
What will become of me when I realize
That I grew up too soon?

What if I'm scared to fall in love
Because of what I've seen?
What will I do if I meet someone
And find that he's perfect for me?

What will I do if life passes me by?
How will I make up for lost time?
Is there any way to make time stop
Or to shorten this uphill climb?

And what if these questions go on unanswered?
What will become of me then?
What will I do if I don't know where to turn?
What will I do when I reach the end?

youre so talented. this is written well and with, not just a spark, but a burst of creativity.
this piece was really fun and interesting to read and imagine answers to some of the lighter questions. even more fun and interesting is the idea of discovering the answers to some of the more serious questions.

nicely done indeed :)

Many questions are answered by life. My only advice I gave my children was to travel and test life before work and debt steal your dreams and life. Fear is a good thing. Make us think before we make bad decisions. A powerful poem with many good questions. Life is long. No rush to choose your destiny. Enjoy your youth and have fun. Thank you for the excellent poem.
