34 Seasons

34 Seasons

A Poem by ~ Czarina Iris ~
"

34 seasons of tireless work teaching generations the way to reach their dreams, to perservere, to make the sun shine on each new day

"

34 seasons have come and passed

Each bringing new hopes and fears

34 years of shinning faces

Each with dreams that they hold dear

34 seasons of tireless work

Teaching generations the way

To reach their dreams, to perservere

To make the sun shine on each new day

34 seasons have now reached their end

No more minds to shape and mould

But your teachings live on within our hearts

As we live, laugh and grow old

34 seasons you gave to us

34 years within these walls

That's not enough time to thank you

For what you've done for us all

Author's Note

~ Czarina Iris ~
For my second semester, grade 11 math teacher, Mr. Blythe. After 34 years of teaching, he is retiring.
I was never a strong math student, I always struggled, I always fell behind because I didn't understand the assignment. For years, I felt that I was useless when it came to math, that I'd never understand it and I'd convinced myself that after I passed 11A math, I was dropping it. I'm glad I didn't. He gave me the confidence to do well and realize my potential and at his retirement party after school, he looked me right in the eye and told me to pursue my dreams, to never give up on what I'm passionate about no matter how hard it may be.
Enjoy your retirement, Mr, Blythe.
