Are You Proud Now?

Are You Proud Now?

I'm trying, I am.

See? I'm doing better.

80

Are you pleased yet?

90

Are you proud of me now?

It

hurts

that you only see

my

failures

and not my successes.

This

pressure

to please you,

to

live

your life for you,

to

lead

the life you didn't

is

too

much for me.

Are you proud now?

Author's Note

So, a few weeks ago I had a bad test and my math mark went down... My mother was not impressed. I started off hardly passing in middle school and I managed to work my way up (these are actually approximations of the marks I've recieved in math through the years) and I was able to get a 94, but with all the stress to keep doing well, with my uncle passing away, with my cousin, with drama, my school/homework, and my mother constantly nagging at me to study, to do my piano, to do better in school or she'll take everything away from me, I couldn't keep it up...
For you mother. I hope you're proud of me now

i used to blame everything else to, but at the end of the day people (in general ) dont care about everything else going on. i think you are doing a great job, and you will continue to improve the harder you try. you could easily get 100s if you put 100% of your energy into it. i was the same way till i really gave 100 of myself (5am-1am every day to pure studying (1 hour total break for eating)) mind you that pace is not for everyone
great work with this
