Hands of Time

Hands of Time

A Poem by ~ Czarina Iris ~
"

It's been said once, it'll be said again We all grow up too fast

"

Moment after moment

Precious minutes of our lives

Race past far too quickly

Time just seems to fly

The hands of Time forever turning

Forcing us to press on

And leave behind precious moments

That now seem so far gone

A child born of mother earth

Then a woman of the sea

A gentle maiden of the sky

Now lies for an eternity

Time has made another leap

Another moment that won't last

It's been said once, it'll be said again

We all grow up too fast

Author's Note

~ Czarina Iris ~
I was watching Mamma Mia! and I was inspired when the song Slipping Through My Fingers started playing.
It's very true that we all grow up too fast - some faster than others - and it's hard to hold on to those precious memories from out childhood.
And yes, I was fighting back tears through that song AND Winner Takes It All
