Was I Wrong?

Was I Wrong?

A Poem by ~ Czarina Iris ~
"

Was I wrong to walk away from you...?

"

Was I wrong

To stand by and

Say nothing?

To let the slashes

On your wrists go

Un-noticed?

Was I wrong

To keep my mouth

Shut and pray that

You'd stop?

To keep hoping

That you'd keep

Your promise?

Was I wrong

to say nothing when

You started

Smoking? To keep

It to myself, to

Keep it secret?

Was I wrong

To guard these

Secrets from

Everyone? To believe

You and your

Promises?

Was I wrong

To walk away from you

After all this time?

After everything we've

Been through, everything

We've seen?

Was I wrong?

Awe this was a sad poem. I know it's hard to make this decision...it's like in the Kite Runner...who am I going to be..that's what this reminded me of because Amir had to make a choice like that...and well it's what you are going through at the moment. I hope your friend stops and thinks. Thanks for sharing. :)

No, you weren't wrong. You can only allow someone else to drag you down for so long. The pain of walking away is much less than the pain of staying and watching her descend into hell by her own choice. Once you've done everything you can to help and nothing works, it's time to move on. You've done the right thing. And written about it beautifully.

Then why did you do it?

Very nice...the struggle of knowing how best to effect and end result that is positive. These questions demonstrate commitment, concern...the symptoms of sincere love.

Excellent...
