No Place Like Home

No Place Like Home

A Poem by Nicholas
"

A crumbling family and the effect the parents' fighting is having on the daughter. The daughter imagines a battle she must fight in against a beast (her father,) in order to save her family.

"

He screams, she screams.

No one is getting anywhere.

Their words suspended in mid-air.

They can cut like a knife.

It's quiet for a while.

She's hoping that it's over.

Is it over? Is it truly over?

No!

She removes herself and goes outside.

She breathes in the fresh air.

She closes her eyes and counts to ten.

Staring and everything, but seeing nothing.

Would they notice if she fled?

Would they care?

Leave one life to start anew?

It's a dream that's out of reach, but not out of sight.

They're at it again.

Words that suffocate! Words that burn their flesh! Words that stab! Words that bring immense pain!

He's the worst of them all.

His words can kill.

Should she go back in?

Should she take the risk?

Should she dive head first into the lair of the beast?

Questions swirl inside her brain.

An internal debate.

She's made her decision.

She gets up slowly.

Her armor is bloody, dented, and dirty.

No weapons for defense, just used words.

What does she have to lose?

Perhaps herself, perhaps everything.

She won't know until she's in.

She faces being devoured.

She faces uncertainty, the unknown.

Into the darkness she goes.

There's no place like home....

This is a great poem,
But i think you can get rid of the headings.
When you start a new paragraph people know it's another verse.
Other than that, it is a good poem.
