The one who wasn't the one.A Story by yoursmadlyAll stories end happily. But not all end with a kiss.
"Everything happens for a reason," I was told.
You encounter difficult situations, receive rewards and most importantly, meet people for a reason. Sometimes the reason you think you've met these people may not be true and that's when life surprises you but surprises aren't always supposed to be happy ones. If I knew what was gonna happen or that he would eventually become the reason why I'd go to bed with a giddy smile when I met him, I'd stop. Because I wasn't ready- ready for this overwhelming turmoil of emotions I still can't exactly define and I'm not sure if I will ever be able to. The things he said, the gestures he made and the undefinable way he made me feel managed to surpass everything I'd ever imagined but couldn't satisfy any definition of love... maybe because love is different for everyone and for me, love was simply being with him. Love resided in the comfortable silence we shared before we went to sleep. It resided in the sounds of laughter and the touch of togetherness. Meeting him was possibly the best moment of my life but getting to know the amazing soul he was, was even better. Things change with time and I wish they would have changed for good but maybe they did. Breakups are hard, having one because of no reason but the possibility of bitter separation because of distance is the hardest. I knew saying goodbye would be hard and I'd shed a thousand tears but as we shared the last hug, experienced each other's touch for the last time, I broke a little inside, only to grow again into the woman I am today and looking back at this short-lived fairy-tale, I finally understand why I was blessed by his presence.
