The Moshpit MusicalA Poem by {A}shley {B}lack @-;-The Formation Of A MoshpitThe Moshpit Musical And so it begins the darkness descends the ritual will come soon at the end you will be friends The band enters to the roar of the crowd They begin to sing although others say “It’s Too Loud!!” Screamo and metal too much to handle tonight I’m the Emo the typical vandal The Music Transforms The music is thumping as every hit of the drum passes into our bodies The guitar is electric every note tickling our eardrum The lighting strobing Slowing our rabid movements My body is pulsating How invigorating! And So It Begins! A few veterans create a hole and it slowly grows Glances between the predators…. enter the pros Jumping and head banging waiting for the time Enter if you dare the music hits its prime Rushing, crushing, elbows and arms fly jumping, diving willingness to die Sweat becomes you Music is your oxygen Knocked to the floor by a master of the craft Raised and locked horns as rock is your path Stage two of the mosh a circle starts to spin One anti-clockwise Spinning on the clockwise within Faster and faster passing blurry faces Pushed to the floor then trying to regain your places This moshpit marvel The bond between fans Lift up your lighters Raise up your hands Scream until your throat no longer says your name Bang your head so that for days your neck feels the strain If you bleed from a hit just wear the blood proud A middle finger to you all that say IT’S TOO LOUD!!! For we are the moshers The rockers The band Our instruments are our bodies Maybe one day you can understand © 2011 {A}shley {B}lack @-;-Author's Note
