On My Last LegsA Poem by {A}shley {B}lack @-;-A Poem About SacrificeOn My Last Legs I gave you everything you took it I breathe for you you inhaled every breath I held you in comfort You felt safe I hold a blade because of you drip. .drip...drip Her answers to a simple question tore the goodness out of my soul why have you shamed our love? "You cannot make me whole" Dragging myself up swig another drink walls closing in blood as black as ink Leave then if I can't complete you pursue that elusive ONE every part that cared for you Is already done grabbing used blade placing against her face tears roll down her cheeks put her in her place "please don't hurt me baby" too late for her pleas locking our eternal tomb throwing away the keys Slicing every piece of flesh You take it exhausted breathing heavily
you inhale your remaining breaths holding you the last few seconds you feel only hate I hold a blade because of you drip. .drip...drip © 2011 {A}shley {B}lack @-;-Author's Note
