My Face Is A Thousand Faces

My Face Is A Thousand Faces

A Poem by {A}shley {B}lack @-;-
"

A poem about being lucky for what you have

"
My Face Is A Thousand Faces

Look upon me with your eyes
Tell me what you see my latest disguise

A face of anger gritted teeth
trust broken being lied to
what lies beneath?

A face of sadness teary eyes
broken promises
Someone close demise

A face of happiness full of cheer
new promotion
news been longing to hear

A face of envy unable to touch
materialistic ownership costing to much

A face of lust gazing with ease
undressing you slowly biting my lip
tempting you a definite tease

A face of abuse pungent with fear
being beaten for wrongdoing
because you couldn’t hear

A face without senses
a life without touch
we complain about such meagre things
when we are lucky to have so much

My face may be a thousand faces
but there are people with so few

so I leave you with this message
do unto others as you would have them do unto you

This poem Is basically showing that we can all express ourselves through facial expression but give thought to those who are unable to see these or understand

I love this! I really like last 3 stanzas. Saying that, although we've been through much which has caused us to have so many different 'faces' we should be thankful for these different experiences, good or bad, because many people don't get to have such experiences and they've made us who we are today. I actually learned a lot from this poem. Great work. (:

I like it like the flow its different the emotion I could see the masks cause we all ware them some more tightly stuck on than others. It was a good read

Once again, extraordinary ability to capture such intense emotion in words - and yet it's still easy to read. Skills like this deserve a wider audience.
