The Teacher and the Student

The Teacher and the Student

A Poem by sivan

Professor of dignity

You stand above humility

Looking down with pity

On me

And I am just a student and

Just a victim to your cause

You seem empathetically

To always stop

And

Help me

And I am just the wanderer

Who happened to find your doors

Preacher of equality

You give

And take

Generously

And I am just temptation

But you have broken laws

Step up

To the truth

Before you’ve lost

All self-respect

I was just the path you chose

A secret impossibly kept

. it's sad when that happens ...
. very assertive and poetic writing ... moving too ...

i get it. life happens and it doesn't play favorites: students/teachers; church-goers/preachers and every other combination. all bring drama, excitement, taboos and regret. nice piece. keep it coming.

This takes on a more delicate feel. I am not sure how that impression has fallen upon me but anyway this was penned well.
