The Order of Things

The Order of Things

A Poem by sivan

It’s not the way it used to be,

The snow falls heavy

And it’s colder than I remembered.

Who knows if the path we chose was meant for us

Perhaps we just stumbled across it

Earlier than its rightful owner

Adding it to our lost and found collection.

Some might say that this is fate,

That the lion slept in late that day

And for a moment chaos reigned free

Changing the routine procedure

So evolution was the only option.

Do you remember when the hunter was the hunted?

Do you remember when these grey clouds were clear blue skies?-

I remember,

I used to see love in your eyes.

Time has taken its strain on us-

I’m no longer the reason you are smiling

And we have nothing much left to say

I guess the lion slept in today.

Its always painful when we have to accept the fact that time has moved and the one we are with have moved on with it. this profound poem captures the emotions this shift causes perfectly and the reader cant help but relate. I love how you refrence the sleeping lion in this piece as well. it was perfectly applied. I loved this piece

This is awesome. I love the metaphor of the lion who stands opposed to the "chaos reigned free".
