Eye Contact Essentials

Eye Contact Essentials

A Poem by sivan

Eyes penetrating from a distance-

You aren’t even trying.

I guess discretion is not your thing.

Overrated, outdated, dripping fantasies,

Crawling across the room and up into my thoughts-

You know he won’t notice.

Diabolically speaking

Internally breaking the surface with your composure.

Standing there and I am not blind!

Suffocating me

In your trance inducing performance-

You know he’s unaware.

Subconsciously channeling

Waves of curiosity.

Freely exposed to vulnerability

Waiting for my reaction,

Teasing you with your own attraction-

You know he doesn’t care.

Secrets between us

Filling the air he is breathing,

Coursing through his veins like an unknown virus

Attacking the immune system.

Unattractive, deceitful indecencies-

He doesn’t realize

He lost you to my stare.

...
. brilliant ! ... this is an amazing anatomy of a moment ... utterly skillful ... and sensitive ... narrated in the perfect tone ... biting and sharp ... a great read ... that last line is particularly amazing ...
