The Place Between Lies and Truth

The Place Between Lies and Truth

A Poem by sivan

Questions, the answers to which I do not know

And so I am lying.

Promises you made so hard to keep

And so I’ve given up trying.

Who was the trigger to your suspicions?-

Your accusations are incomplete.

Sentences formed without thought

Relay the wrong message.

How am I to decipher through all the foliage?

Hundreds of years to prove the equation

Only for you to suffocate it in your grip.

To climb the mountain

To give up ten meters before the tip.

It just seems to me a waste,

You seem to act in haste rather than calculation.

Is it fear or dedication that forces its way with you?

Through you, over you so that you cannot bear to leave

But staying would not be in your best interest.

Accusations, rumors, which seem to hold a certain degree of truth

And so now you are lying.

Decisions between which your mind is torn

And so now you’ve given up trying.
