Thoughtless Actions

its the bad choices the drowned out voices

you had fair warning you just were't listening

take another sip you are long past the point from which you can never return

time got lost somewhere between the ache and the burn

you cant tell them apart now

indifference once a challenge to you

slowly becomes second nature

all you heard was hello goodbye nothing in between

chemical reactions between emotional states

precipitating one single feeling

nothing

you may as well drink the bottle finished

because no repayment will cover the cost

priceless

in the worst sense of the word

words

once spoken

can be taken back, forgiven even close to

 

forgotten

 

but memories can be obstinate

ingrained so deep that even the holder cannot find them

and yet somehow always close enough to the surface to

pull the trigger

dont expect to be exempt from the consequences

yours were no minor offences
